Problem / Solution

Salzburg’s Postareal is a new city district around the city main railway station. This 20.000-square meter site, which formerly housed the city’s post office, now counts with a shopping centre, a hotel and approximately 5.500 square meters of office space. In addition, the new administrative buildings of Salzburg regional health insurance fund and a residential complex were also built in the surroundings.

Experience

The porous nature of expanded clay and additive-free-granules provides excellent thermal installations and improves the acoustic insulations of buildings.

Why expanded clay?

Expanded clay binds easily with cement to give a lightweight insulating permeable concrete with better mechanical strength as compared to lose bulk. These concrete mixes can be prepared using a screed-mixer, manual-mixer or special mixer techniques. With bound expanded clay, you can achieve considerable thickness, whilst keeping the structural loading low. In addition, the product is non-putrescible dimensionally stable, and non-flammable.
