Problem / Solution
The laboratory of sport sciences “Jacques Rogge” is a new building in the department of movement and sport sciences part of the university of Ghent. The laboratory consists of two tennis courts on artificial turf and a high-level innovative scientific research is carry out on sport and human movement.
Experience
Because of the excellent results that expanded clay gives as drainage material and the low density it was chosen for a substructure with the expanded clay granules.
Why expanded clay?
To ensure a profound drainage, the most ideal construction of that sports field was sought in conjunction with Ercat (European Research Centre for Artificial Turf).
